I AND MY PEOPLE SHARE THE SAME DRINKING WATER WITH ANIMALS LIKE CATTLES,PIGS AND OTHERS-SAVELUGU CHIEF CRIES

The chief of savelugu-kpatule in the northern region NaaYimi is in tears appealing to the government and NGOs to hear their cry with an immediate effect in the provision of good drinking water in the town.

 

The chief said it is very pathetic to see some part of northern region especially his town,savelugu kpatule sharing the same drinking water with animals.
As times you will see animal toilet on the surface of the water ,urine and all kinds of dirt in our rivers and this is the same water that i and my people drink.
Most of the rivers do not have water in them now due to the dry season and the few that is left is unclean too and is what we share with our livestock here.

My people wake up as early as 4am including children and pregnant woman to go and queue up for water from a river,at times they will come home with straight reports and i do not know what to do.Naa Yimi said.

I am appealing to the government and NGOs to help us with bore wholes or any quality drinking water.Water is life and we cannot live without water.
